I have found RDNY very helpful in searching an apartment. I live in Washington, DC and it seemed impossible (basing on friend's experiences) to find a place to live in NYC without a broker. This is not a first time I am moving, but it is a first time I have heard about broker (for me hiring somebody to find my a place with an extra cost was ridicules). I was searching the internet and I have found RDNY.com and I decided to give it a try- it is only $200 comparing to at least $2500 (for a broker) so it seemed wort a try. And it was worth it!

My first encounter with RDNY.com was due to a possible emergency move and the representative I dealt with then, Jean Louis, was great. He related to my situation and made me feel more confident in us finding a new home. Thankfully I didn't have to move that time, but when the lease ran out I immediately thought of Jean Louis, but sadly he wasn't with the company anymore. Another nice representative got me set up with a long in code and granted the price was a little higher then I expected, but considering I saved a thousand bucks in brokers fees it was worth it. We saw a few different places that were listed and settled on this one in Bay Ridge which has a small backyard and a big park a few blocks away. Overall, I would say that it was a good idea to use RDNY.com and I will definitely do it again the next time I want to move.

I have been planning to move out of my parents home for two years and was excited about obtaining my first apartment.
I 'bumped' into RDNY.com by mistake after a meeting with a real estate broker who decided not to work with me because I only had 4 month of employment at the time with a new job. Although, I had everything else -salary, savings, great credit score, 7yrs at a prior job and credentials-the broker told me "I might as well be unemployed."
I was dissappointed and disoriented because I did research of brokers and decide that that agency would best fit my needs.
Sooo I sat at Starbucks and started browsing the internet and saw the link for RDNY. As I read the description it sounded to good to be true! No broker fee and immediate access to landlords and supers in the area I wanted -upper manhattan. I called and was assisted by service agent Tommy (forget his last name). Tommy was pleasantly friendly, welcoming and informative. He asked if I was interested that he could take my payment information over the phone, but I was hesitant and asked if I could meet in person instead since I was in the area. He agreed and made time to meet with me in matter of minutes. I went to the office which was clean and organized. On the walls there are articles of the company which talks about RDNY credentials and history. I signed up immediately.
(That other agency did call me back to state that their broker made a mistake with my profile and that they wanted to work with me. But lucky me- I had already signed up with RDNY).
A few weeks later-I found my apartment! And what makes the process sweeter is that I paid a small fraction of what I would have paid if I used a broker.
Receiving open house/recent postings in my e-mail/blackberry per my preferences was a great tool.
I want to thank RDNY for providing this type of service. I have informed friends, colleges and family- its a great company.

My girlfriend and I were faced with the nearly impossible task of having to find an apartment - and move in - within just two weeks. Incredibly, we pulled it off with time to spare, and we absolutely couldn't have done without the help of RDNY.com. Moving from Harrisburg for a new job, I had only one free day to visit the city, look at apartments and make a decision before heading back to PA. A friend told us about RDNY when we were looking to relocate back to New York from Texas, and we have used its services twice in the last year; once to find a short term furnished sublet, and again to look for an unfurnished long term rental to move into after the short-term lease was up.
